Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek is a beautiful and popular trekking trail in Nepal. It is a flexible trekking route, which means you can trek on your own time. The trekkers can make this Short Trek or a long trek. Both are possible but it depends on your holiday time in Nepal.
We design the Annapurna Base Camp Trek Itinerary according to your holiday time and interest. Our ABC Short Trek starts from Ghandruk Village, after a drive or trek from Pokhara. Then continue to Chhomrong Village. It is a very nice village, from here you can enjoy seeing a great view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna III, and Fishtail very close to your eye.
After the Chhomrong, our trekking trail leads us downhill to the river. After crossing the river we will continue to Sinuwa, Bamboo, Dovan, and Himalaya. Likewise, the trail leads us to continue to Deaurali, MBC then finally reach our final destination Annapurna Base Camp 4,130m.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek, also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, is one of the most popular treks in Nepal. The Annapurna base camp trek usually takes about 7 to 14 days, depending on the chosen route and adaptation needs. Each day unfolds with discoveries, as you traverse diverse landscapes and encounter nature at its most pristine. ABC Trek is known as very flexible so you do this trek on your time frame.
Well, it is right questions. The Annapurna base camp trek is easier than Everest Base Camp Trek. Everest base camp is more challenging than Annapurna base camp due to the high altitude, oxygen level and remoteness. The highest altitude of Annapurna base camp is 4130 meters and Everest base camp is 5364meters from the sea level so if we compared these two popular treks there is no doubt the Everest base camp trek is harder than ABC.
The Annapurna base camp trek is categorized moderate trekking routes. It is not very difficult and you don’t need any special training for mountain climbing and high altitude trek. But during the winter, when there is snow on the way it is harder and challenging. On this time it will be more risky to from the avalanche especially around Deurali. The best time to trek Annapurna base camp are during the pre-monsoon (spring) and post-monsoon (autumn) seasons. In spring (March to May), the road is dotted with vibrant azaleas and the weather is mild and pleasant. Autumn (September to December) has clear skies, beautiful mountain views, and pleasant temperatures. How Do I get to the starting point of the ABC Trek?
The trek usually starts in Pokhara, a famous tourist city in central Nepal. You can reach Pokhara by bus, flight, or private vehicle from Kathmandu. You can spend one night at Pokhara then a short drive to the trek starting point.
While it’s not strictly necessary to hire a guide or porter, having one can enhance your experience by providing valuable information about the local culture, flora, and fauna, and ensuring your safety. So we highly recommend trekking with a guide.
Are the permits necessary for the Annapurna Trek?
Of course, you will need two different permits: the TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System) and the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) entry permit.
Where do I Stay during the ABC Trek?
There are several lodges and guest houses along the route that offer accommodation and meals. After the Sinuwa, there are limited tea houses so we have to early reservations during the main trekking season. So we request you for early booking your trek to Annapurna base camp.
Is the ABC trek safe?
Yes, trekking in Nepal is generally safe if certain precautions are taken. The Annapurna Base Camp trek is not particularly dangerous, but it’s important to be aware of potential risks like altitude sickness, weather changes, heavy snowfall, and avalanches.

After breakfast, we will drive to Pokhara for about 5/6 hours. The distance between Kathmandu and Pokhara is 200 kilometers. Your transfer to the hotel.
After breakfast at your hotel, We will nice drive to Kot Danda by private vehicle. We have to drive from Pokhara to Nayapul on the road to Beni Baglung. Then from Nayapul, we will follow the Modi Khola valleys and drive through bumpy roads to Kot Danda. After that, a short trek to Jhinu Danda 1,780m. From here you can enjoy seeing the view of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. Enjoy the natural hot spring, It is about 20 minutes descend from your hotel.
The trek from Jhinu Danda, steep ascends with the view of Annapurna Mountain vistas. The terrain then gets a little easier before it reaches Chhomrong Village. The village is the last one before ABC on the path. You can enjoy the beautiful mountain view of Fishtail, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli from here. After some descent and ascends we will stop at Lower Sinuwa for lunch. After lunch, we will continue our trek through the beautiful forest from Upper Sinuwa through Kuldi Ghar to reach finally Bamboo.
After breakfast, we will start our journey to the Himalayan hotel and continue to reach Deaurali. walking through the beautiful forest and enjoy to seeing many birds and wildlife mainly white monkeys, and a waterfall. The jungle starts to get thinner and after passing through the Himalayas, the alpine vegetation can be enjoyed for the first time on the trek. In the Deaurali there are just 4/5 tea houses.
Depending on the season, our journey today takes us along a trail that is frequently covered in snow to the Annapurna Base Camp 4,130m. You are fortunate to have awe-inspiring views of the massive mountain Annapurna I, 8,091m, and enjoy the breathtaking views of many other mountains. Wake up early in the morning, and enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Annapurna and other snow-capped mountains. The sunrise in the mountains is amazing from here. After enjoying the views, have breakfast at the hotel then we trek descend the same way back to Dovan. The pleasant walking through the lush forest is nice to enjoy seeing many birds and wildlife. Mainly the white monkey along the trail.
Today our trekking trail leads us to Jhinu Dada, through the same way some ascend and descend to Chhomrong. From Chhomrong Danda, we will follow a different trail all the way steep downhill to Jhinu Danda. After about 20 minutes of walking descend from the hotel to the natural hot spring. Lies on the river bank of Modi Khola fresh running water from Annapurna Base Camp. You can enjoy and relax with a bath here.
After breakfast, we will start our journey on a short descent and cross the very long bridge on the Kyumrung Khola then continue walking to Kot Danda. Then drive to Pokhara. You can enjoy a visiting look around Pokhara. It is a very nice tourist city in Nepal. You can enjoy and relax during your half-day at Pokhara.
Returning to Kathmandu entails a 7-hour trip through the Trisuli River and via numerous towns. You can spend your time relaxing or shopping for souvenirs to take home. In the evening, we will offer a goodbye dinner with cultural dance performances in a traditional restaurant to memorated your incredible journey.
