The Arun Valley Salpa Pass Trek is stunning in its natural beauty. It is a trekking destination with a wide range of cultural influences. Located in Nepal’s Makalu Region, in the eastern section of the country. This trek is classified as a Nepalese non-tourist trekking trail. The spectacular views of Mt Everest, at 8,848 meters, and Mt Makalu, at 8,463 meters, are among the trek’s highlights.
Explore the world’s deepest Arun valley, as well as several others. The Arun Valley Trek lies between the world’s two highest peaks, Mt Everest (8,848m) and Mt Makalu (8,463m). Arun Valley Trekking is known for its breathtaking views of mountains that are closer to your eyes.
The Salpa Bhanjyang and Salpa Pokhari are just two of the many sights to see on this walk. You can day hike to Silichung Peak (4,150m), one of the best overlooks on the journey, if you have enough time.

We, Himalaya Darshan Treks warmly welcome you and your group to Nepal. One of our company staff will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The person will be waiting outside the baggage hall of the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, holding an A4-size paper with your name and our company name. So, you have to look for that person for your pick up from the airport. Your check-in at the hotel.
The early morning flight from Kathmandu provides spectacular views of the hills, canyons, and the eastern Himalayas until we arrive in Tumlingtar. When you get to Tumlingtar.
A short visit to Tumlingtar and after lunch take the trek through the forest and down through the farms until you reach Kumal Gaon, which sits on the crest of a wide hill. We stroll down the Arun River’s eastern bank, crossing it on a bridge that goes to Bheteni town.
We continue walking for another 250 meters to Chewabesi, where we will have lunch. We walk through the sub-tropical forest and continue south along the Arun River’s east bank, passing past Chettri, Rai, and Brahmin villages until arriving in Kartike Ghat. Stay at the tea house.
We arrive in the tiny settlement of Baluwa Besi after crossing via the Arun River Bridge. The trail climbs through the Sal forest and passes through various settlements before arriving in Marduwa, a Rai village, over rice terraces. The track continues down the Irkhuwa Khola, passing through banana and rice plantations until it reaches Gothe Bazaar. Stay at the tea house.
To get to Dobane, we pass through Sherpa and Rai settlements and traverse suspension bridges across the Irkhuwa Khola. We go past the lovely settlements of Tendor and Tallo Phedi, then along the south bank of the Irkhuwa Khola, through terraced farms and moist woodland regions. We continue on a meandering track across the Irkhuwa Khola riverbed to Upper Phedi. Stay at the tea house.
After breakfast, we ascend alongside a tiny creek and through dense forest to reach the settlement of Thulo Fokte. Continue on the stone path through the woodland, stopping for rests as needed. Climb up to Bilbate through the birch, oak, and rhododendron woodland. Before arriving in Gurase, we walk for about 30 minutes from Bilbate.
We begin our walk to Salpa Pokhari by passing through a lovely rhododendron forest. In Salpa Bhanjyang, there is a holy pond known as Salpa Pokhari. During the full moon in August/September, a large number of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims flock to this location. The area is surrounded by hemlock and fir trees and is densely forested, with a diverse range of vegetation, wildlife, and birds. You can see Makalu (8463m) and Chamlang Himal (7,321m) from here. We continue our journey descend after Salpa Pass. The trail with loose stones and rhododendrons. We then reach Sanam Sherpa village.
We make our way to the village of Sorung via a forest of brown oaks, rhododendron, and chir pines. We hike for about two hours from Shorung to the Kulung village of Gudel. The trail descends through rice, soybean, and millet fields to the village of Bung after crossing the Hinku River on a steel suspension bridge. To enter Bung, we’ll need to check our Makalu Barun National Park entry permit.
From Bung, You can trek different ways to the Sotang, Budi Danda, Nele, and Salleri/Phaplu.
Today’s hike begins with a steep descent through a cliff of a hill covered in wispy bamboo. We then cross through Najindingma hamlet and arrive at a clear savannah area where people from the surrounding settlements graze their yaks in the summer. We arrive in Gaikharka after another hour and a half of walking through the humid forest. You’ll have stunning views of green terraces and scattered farmhouses from this vantage point.
After breakfast, we begin our adventure by dropping through the edge and going through the ravines and old moraines, which include many ups and downs. The trail then gradually dips before ascending through a rhododendron and juniper forest to Vasme. Mera Peak (6476m) and vistas of the Lower Solu Khumbu region can be seen from here.
We start our walk from Vasme, going through a rhododendron woodland. Panggom La Pass (3,174m) gives excellent views of the snow-covered Kusum Kanguru (6,367m), Mera Peak (6,476m), Kangtega (6,685m), and other peaks after a tough ascent through the forest. We continue down the slope, which will lead us to Panggom, a lovely Sherpa settlement. You may visit Paldiorken Choling Gompa and Hillary School in Panggom village.
As we approach the settlement of Paiya, we hike through thick Bamboo, rhododendron, and oak forests. Continue the summit of Khari La (3,145m), which is a vantage point for viewing the beauty of Thamserku (6,608m), Kusum Kanguru (6,367m), and Kangtega (6,685m). We continue onward, gradually descending and crossing a wooden bridge above Paiya Khola before arriving in Paiya.
After breakfast at Paiya, We start our last day walking through the easy way to Pakhepa. From here you can see a great view of Lukla and Khumbu valley. The trail descends to Surke. After crossing the bridge on Surke Khola our trail ascends to Lukla. A famous and popular place in the Everest region. It is a gateway to Everest region treks.
We fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla, with a spectacular view of the mountain from the plane. We will bring you to your hotel after we arrive at Kathmandu airport. Then you can relax or go shopping for your friends and family. Because you will have a lot of time, you can go to the bars and clubs in Thamel at night to refresh before returning home the next day.
Today is your final day in Nepal. After breakfast, our team will drop you at the airport before the scheduled time. If you want, then you can extend your stay in Nepal by visiting some other places then you can do. We hope to see you again.
