Kwangde Peak Climbing

The top of Kwangde In the Khumbu area, climbing is a popular hiking peak. It’s southwest of Namche village, the Everest entry point. It is located southwest of Namche Bazar, above the Bhote Koshi River. With multiple high ridges to the north, the northern half of the mountain creates a formidable barrier.

The Kwangde summit, located in the Everest region, is a technically difficult hiking peak. Likewise, It’s a great hiking peak to aim for, and it also has a magnificent viewpoint.

In the east, the Kwangde Peak Summit view stretches across Khumbu, Ama Dablam, and Makalu. Mt Everest and Cho Oyu, likewise, feature the stunning Rolwaling peaks to the northwest. Kwangde Peak has been open for climbing since it was first opened to the public. This peak has been successfully climbed by several mountaineers.

Kwangde Peak Permit Fee

Mainly the Permit fee depends on the Climbing Season. In the spring season, the permit fee is more expensive because it is the best mountaineering season. Kwangde Peak Climbing Permit Fee stretchers are:-

  •  Spring season (March, April, and May) Per Person –USD 250
  •  Autumn season (September, October, and November) per person – USD 125
  • Winter season (December, January, and February) per person – USD 70
  • Summer season (June, July, and August) per person – USD 70
Flight Information to /from Lukla

Flight Information to /from Lukla: Due to the Kathmandu airport overcrowding, Flights to Lukla (Everest Region) depart from Manthali Airport (Ramechhap) for the busiest season. The distance from Kathmandu to Mathali airport is about 130 kilometers. So it takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to drive. We leave Kathmandu at 1 or 1.30 AM to catch our early morning flights from Manthali to Lukla.

Note: The flight will be departing from March 15 to May 15 and October to November. However, it depends on the decision of the airlines and the civil aviation authority of Nepal.

Lukla flight delays or cancellations

The bad weather conditions and overtraffic in Kathmandu airports are the main reasons for delaying and canceling flights. The weather in hilly and Himalayan regions will be changed so quickly. So, We at Himalaya Darshan Treks highly recommend managing a minimum of 1 or 2 extra days for your Everest and Dolpo region treks.

What is the Lukla Flight Weight limitation?

The airlines have a weight limitation of only 15 kilograms (about 33 pounds) per person so please try to make your luggage less than 15 kilograms. Otherwise, you have to pay extra money but it is only possible if there is no overweight on the plane. So, the best option is to make your bag light

Day 2, Official procedure day, after breakfast, sightseeing in Swayambhunath (monkey temple) Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Day 3, Fly to Lukla and then trek to Phakding.
Day 4, Trek to Lumding Kharka.
Day 5, Trek to Pokhari Camp.
Day 6, Trek to Kwangde base camp.
Day 7, Acclamatization day.
Day 8, Climb to Kwangde high camp.
Day 9, To Kwangde Peak and back to high camp.
Day 10, Back to Base Camp.
Day 11, Back toward Thame village.
Day 12, Thame.
Day 13, Trek to Namche Bazaar.
Day 14, Trek to Phakding.
