Pikey Peak Trekking
Pikey Peak Trekking presents an exciting opportunity for teahouse trekking enthusiasts in the lower regions of the Everest area. This rural path is less frequented by trekkers, allowing for a more serene experience. Along the trek, you’ll be treated to captivating sights such as ancient monasteries, Mani walls, Stupas, temples, and Hindu pilgrimage sites, immersing you in a culturally vibrant hiking environment. Towards the north, awe-inspiring vistas of Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Makalu await, while to the south, deep valleys seem to vanish into the heavens.
Reaching an elevation of 4065 meters, Pikey Peak offers a vantage point that captivated the legendary Sir Edmund Hillary, who claimed it to be his favorite view of Mt. Everest (8848 meters). Additionally, during July, the Sherpa people believe that their clan deity resides on Pikey Peak, providing an opportunity for inhabitants to engage in worship and prayer.
From April to May, the woodland comes alive with the blooming of five distinct species of Rhododendrons. This journey also boasts an abundance of Himalayan flora and fauna, among other natural wonders.
