Upper Mustang is the most restricted area in the Trans Himalayas of Nepal. To trek and tour Upper Mustang, you need at least 2 people to obtain a special permit from the Department of Immigration. We need your original passport also to make an Upper Mustang Special Trekking Permit.
How high is the Mustang?
The highest point of the Upper Mustang is Lo-manthang 3850m and you can day hike or tour from Lo-manthang around 3985 meters so it will be the highest point of this trek.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport (1,350m) and transfer to hotel
We, Himalaya Darshan Treks heartily welcome you and your group to Nepal. One of our company staff will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The person will be waiting outside the baggage hall of the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, holding an A4-size paper with your name and our company name. So, you have to look for that person for your pick up from the airport. Your check-in at the hotel.
Day 2: Your Free day, Trip Preparation Day
Your Free Day, Trip Preparation Day. This day is required to make Upper Mustang Trek Special Permit with your original passport.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara (820m), Transfer to hotel.
Our journey begins with a tourist bus ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Pokhara will take approximately 6 hours to reach by tourist bus. On the trip, you’ll be able to take in the stunning Himalayan scenery. After arriving, you can relax in a nice hotel or explore the lovely city of the lake.
Day 4: Fly to Jomsom (2,770m) and drive to Chhusang (2,810m) Stay at guest house.
Early in the morning, we will have to drive to Pokhara airport to fly over snow-clad mountains to reach Jomsom. We will have breakfast or a cup of tea /coffee at Jomsom. Then we start to drive to Chhusang. We stop at Kagbeni for lunch and to check our special permit to Upper Mustang. Then we will continue our drive to Chhusang village.
Day 5: Drive to Ghemi (3,490m). Stay at guest house.
After breakfast at our guesthouse, Our journey starts to drive to Ghami. Explore and enjoy seeing beautiful surroundings, high mountains, and Tibetan-influenced culture. Then finally reach Ghami Village.
Day 6: Drive to Lo-Manthang (3,840m) via Tsarang Village. Stay at guest house.
After a delicious breakfast, our driving journey begins with a pleasant stroll. On the way, we will pass Ghami Khola and the trail climbs a plateau and goes next to a very long Mani wall and reaches the village of Charang. We will see cornfields, willow trees, and houses separated by a stone wall on the way to Lo-Manthang.
Day 7: Exploration Day at Lo manthang and Chhoser
Today is your exploration day, So late wake up and breakfast. After breakfast ready to drive to Chhosar cave, and visit old and historical monasteries. you can take your time and then drive back to Lo Manthang. You will be able to visit monasteries, and local markets and chat with local people at Lo Manthang.
Day 8: Drive back to Shyangmochen (3,800m). Stay at guest house
After breakfast, we will drive back to Syangmochen
Day 9: Drive back to Jomsom (2,720m). Stay at guest house
After breakfast, we will drive back to Jomsom
Day 10: Fly to Pokhara and Transfer to hotel.
We get up early in the morning and fly to Pokhara on a lovely trip. Flying through a gorge between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains is an incredible experience in and of itself. After landing in Pokhara and transferring to the hotel. You can spend your free time visiting the gorgeous lake city’s streets.
Day 11: Drive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
After breakfast, we depart Pokhara’s stunning northern skyline and return to Kathmandu. After arriving in Kathmandu, you can relax or go shopping for souvenirs. In the evening, you will attend a goodbye supper to commemorate the journey’s completion.
Day 12: Final Departure.
This will be the last day of your trip in Nepal. One of our staff will take you and your group to Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu for your final departure. We wish you and your group safe flights with unforgettable memory from your Nepal trip. Hope to see you again.
